![]() This time a year our memories flashback to our first adventure to South Africa in October 2014. We were excited about the entire trip that included several overnights in Cape Town and two nights on a Safari and Game Reserve. During the last night of our stay, we participated in a South African Braai which is the equivalent to an American Barbecue. One dish in particular that comes to mind was the starter, butternut squash soup. We didn't know what it was at the time of first taste, but once we found out what it was, we were hooked. We tried several versions of it when we came home from Trader Joe's Grocery Store to local restaurants, but it's something about the South African version that remains true. We came across this simple South African Recipe that we will look to make this Fall/Winter season. And we couldn't help but throw in this throwback pick of Sharee dancing during the South African Braai. Still working on that high kick!!
