We did not know what to expect during our 3 hour hike. Little did we know that we would find this second day experience one of bonding, trust, and pure joy. The members of the group were in their mid-twenties to late 50's, and we each had milestones in our lives that had not been reached. We talked about our general fears of the hike and related to our unfulfilled life goals. Some were afraid of heights but they persevered. Others were afraid of the goats that we ran into mid-way. Some were afraid they'll fall down the rocky path and steep inclines. We related those fears with life goals, and came upon the consensus that we have to try new things, set untimed goals, and push beyond our restrictive fears. The end result was a breathtaking walk that literally took us from the ground to the mountains into the clouds. We each felt thankful at that moment that we were in not only in Italy, but felt compelled to thank God for bringing each of us through the 'Path of the Gods' as we comforted each other for the struggles we endured along the way, and in life to come.
