The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have linked a strong association between obesity and chronic diseases. In this video, I share some of the main reasons that loosing weight can lower your risks of the most common chronic diseases, specifically heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. I also share a few general dieting tips that anyone can use to lower their risks, independent of family history and physician recommendation. As an avid traveler, you don't want anything stopping you from enjoying your best life. That means creating a healthy lifestyle in your normal home setting, thereby reducing your risks of chronic diseases, and maximizing your enjoyment during your travels.
The year is more than a quarter gone, and it's been 6 months since our last posting on the blog. Travel demands have increased, and restaurants are opening back up. Soon you'll be on the road (or flight) again, and food delights will beckon you. In the last few months I've taken the time to educate myself in nutrition, and earned a designation as a Certified Nutrition Coach. What does this mean? It means I can assist clients with reaching their nutritional goals, especially as it relates to travel or on occasions apart from their normal routine, such as an office party or new restaurant. It doesn't matter what type of nutritional lifestyle you're seeking- "low-fat", "low-carbs", "vegetarian", "pescatarian", etc. Or maybe you just want to be sure you are taking in all the appropriate nutrients to keep your body functional for those short wknd getaways or the long awaited trip abroad. I'll periodically offer general knowledge and real-world practical tips, whether through written word or short videos. Check out my first video below. If you have a specific nutrition question or topic of concern, please make a comment below.
